What we collect

Your profile answers (name, location, education, skills, preferences), your learning progress and any course achievements, and any projects you add to your profile. If you sign in with Google, we also store your email and profile photo to identify your account.

Where it’s stored

Before you sign in, everything lives only in your browser’s local storage on your own device — nothing is sent anywhere. Once you sign in with Google, your profile, learning progress, and projects also sync to our Firebase project so you can pick up where you left off on another device. Security rules on that database mean only you can read or write your own data — no other candidate, and no business listed on the platform, can see it.

What we don’t do

We don’t sell your data, and we don’t share it with third parties for advertising. Anonymous, aggregate usage analytics (which screens are used, which actions are taken) are collected through Firebase Analytics to help us improve the platform — this never includes your profile answers or personal details.

Business-submitted data

A local business’s name, sector, and the work they’ve requested help with is treated as public catalogue data once approved and published as an opportunity — the same way any job listing is public. It is reviewed by an authorized admin account before publication.

Deleting your data

You can clear your local profile at any time from your device’s browser settings. If you’ve signed in and want your cloud copy removed too, contact the team behind bhama.app.
